Purple Lantana in a Very Special Container
We had the same neighbors for 40 years. When they recently moved to New York, they asked if I would like this ceramic plant pot for my garden. Our children all grew up together and this container was made by their oldest daughter in her high school ceramics class. It meant something to my neighbor, but was one of those things that had to be left behind, as often happens when people move. The plant pot was empty when I received it, and I thought that my new purple lantana would go well in it. I really like the purple contrasted with the black and white.
After seeing my recent post, Lantana in a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden, my old neighbor asked me to peek over the fence and see if the lantana was still growing in their yard. I did peek, and was happy to tell her it was. I hope she sees this post and knows I’m taking good care of this special gift.

Electric Blue Sage, a Drought Tolerant Plant
Electric Blue Sage (Salvia chamaedryoides) is a California native plant, and drought tolerant. The small bright blue flowers appear in the spring and continue until fall. The foliage is a peaceful gray-green and the electric blue sage is considered an evergreen perennial. It does well in full sun and partial shade. Mature plants grow 2-3 feet high and are 2-4 feet wide. The Electric Blue Sage is an attractive addition to the garden, year round.
Morning Dew Drops on Our English Rose
It was quite misty this morning, and when I went into the garden, I noticed the water droplets on our English Rose. I wrote a previous post on the Rosa Wenlock,so please take a look if you would like to know more about it. Below is a second photo of this lovely flower.
Depending on the time of day and lighting, the color of the rose blossom can vary from pinkish, to a more purple hue. As I said in my previous post, the Rosa Wenlock is a beautiful addition to any garden.
