Editing a Photograph

I’m packed and ready to return to California, so I am trying out some of the edit choices in the Aviary app I have on my i-phone.  I’d taken this photo of  some lovely carnations my daughter received, and did some editing on it, as you can see. The background is black and white, and I chose to emphasize the color of the flower.

More Flower Photos

Here I go again.

I didn’t bring my lap top with me to New Zealand, and have been posting on my blog from my i-phone. I have been struggling with it, but I have finally figured how to do it right. I am here for five more days. I think you will be seeing even more photos while I remain in New Zealand. The flowers are all so bright here, I just have to take their photos.

I Love to Photograph a Nice Street Light

I took this photo today while walking our dog, Annika in a nearby park. I have a good friend who once told me that she noticed I often take photos of light fixtures. She is right. Lights, whether inside or out are one of my favorite subjects.

Although it was mid-morning, and the lights were not on, I was fascinated by the modern look of these light fixtures.

It looks like I’m not the only one who enjoys a nice street light.

A Night of Halloween Fun

001

We just finished handing out the Halloween candy. We counted about 100 children, and most were accompanied by parents, or older brothers and sisters. I couldn’t help but notice how polite our young visitors were. I heard a continual chorus of please and thank you’s throughout the evening. It was a fun night. My husband, Martin decorates the house every year and is the main candy server. My job is to hold back our dog Annika, who wants to get out the door and run with the trick-or-treaters. I can’t believe Halloween has come and gone. Next stop, Thanksgiving.
