My Favorite Color is Today’s Photo Challenge

BlueBird

Today’s photo challenge,  to take a photo of my favorite color sent me scurrying around the house trying to decide which color is my favorite.  I love this beautiful bluebird, but then I also love the yellow of the hibiscus in our garden and drive a bright yellow VW Bug.

You can see why this challenge is indeed a challenge. We are blessed with so many beautiful colors in this world, it really is difficult to choose a favorite.  When you look around it’s like opening a treasure chest of jewels. I took this last photo today at Dana Point Harbor. Yet another example of our beautiful color filled world.

I’m still not certain, but I think blue and yellow might be near the top of the list.

Today’s Big Photo Challenge

tomatoes
A photo Challenge started my day. I was to photograph something Big. I was a little stumped at first, until I looked around our kitchen and spotted these tomatoes on the window sill. I placed them next to a big tomato and I had my photo challenge subject. That was easy I thought. A little later we headed out on our scooter and motorcycle for a ride to the city of Orange.

After a very enjoyable ride, we stopped at Ruby’s in Tustin for lunch.
Martin-2

Here is my hubby after parking his Kymco Scooter. We were hungry and couldn’t wait to get inside.

When seated, we discovered that it was too early for lunch. I studied the breakfast menu and chose this delicious cinnamon role. Not the healthiest decision, but what the heck, it was big and delicious. Right then and there I knew that this big cinnamon roll would be the second subject for my BiG photo for today’s photo challenge. By the way, I did share a little with Martin.

Photography’s Golden Hour

Blue-flowers-2
I took this photo this evening between 7:00 and 8:00. This was the hour before sunset, also known as the golden hour. It is also called the magic hour. In the morning, the hour after sunrise is also a golden hour. During these times, the sun’s angle filters the light, and colors are more saturated and vibrant.

All of these photos were taken during that Golden hour. By looking on a weather app, I was able to learn that sundown today would occur at 8:00, so I planned to take photos during the prior hour. If this is something new to you, I hope you’ll go outside during that magical hour and take photos. Even if you don’t have a camera, the rich colors are  obvious and a joy to see. Continue reading
