I took this photo this evening between 7:00 and 8:00. This was the hour before sunset, also known as the golden hour. It is also called the magic hour. In the morning, the hour after sunrise is also a golden hour. During these times, the sun’s angle filters the light, and colors are more saturated and vibrant.


All of these photos were taken during that Golden hour. By looking on a weather app, I was able to learn that sundown today would occur at 8:00, so I planned to take photos during the prior hour. It’s our presidential primary election day. Can’t believe it’s already June 7th.The photography challenge for today was to photograph a button, so I thought I’d photograph my voting sticker instead.

I saw this lovely white rose, as I walked to the polling place this morning, and later used the Aviary app to change the photo to black and white.

This was taken at the garden nursery last weekend and I added it to my post to give a little color to the monochromatic page.

Hope if it was an election day for you, that everyone took the opportunity to cast their vote. I’ll go now and see if any of the results are in.
