This is a closeup of a miniature orchid that I recently bought myself. I’ve read how we shouldn’t be afraid to treat ourselves to something special. Something that brings us happiness and a good feeling inside. I love the brightness of colorful flowers in the house. This is one of the reasons I’ve always grown  African Violets. None of my violets are blooming right now and I was really missing the color. While grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s recently I spotted this beautiful plant and put it in my cart right then and there. It’s been on our kitchen window sill ever since, and still looks beautiful. Below is a photo of one of my African Violets when it was flowering earlier this year.

Since I purchased the miniature orchid, my African Violets are all starting to bud, and before long I will have a window sill alive with color. I can’t wait and will probably post a photo of that too. So, remember, don’t be afraid to treat yourself every once in awhile.
