My morning began quietly, with coffee, in the new orange mug that I won last Sunday at a luncheon given for those who volunteer for our city. I knit with the Crafty Ladies, a group of women who knit and crochet for several charities. My specialty is baby blankets, although lately I haven’t been doing very much knitting. Even though I’m retired now, life seems to get busier and busier.
On Tuesdays, I take an afternoon watercolor class, and last week our instructor asked us to bring a watercolor journal this week, for taking notes and practicing new techniques. We were to purchase or make one. Unfortunately, I forgot all about this, so last night I started designing my journal, and today made an early morning trip to Kinkos where they hole punched the pages and cover of my new journal. I then spent the rest of the morning putting it together. I cut up a paper gift bag, using it to decorate the front and back covers, and I used the matching ribbon that came with the bag to bind everything together. I was actually pretty happy with it, and our teacher loved it.
I arrived to class early, so had time to walk around and enjoy the surroundings. I usually carry my camera with me, and I took a few photos. It was such a gorgeous day I hated to go inside, but watercolor class was calling.
Love your journal! Very bright and cheerie 🙂
Thanks so much. It was great fun making it.
Thanks so much. That is my main goal.
