Above are two photos of our Topical Milkweed plant reseeding. Two years ago we purchased several Milkweed plants to encourage Monarch butterflies to visit our yard and lay eggs. We were successful and it’s been wonderful to observe the stages from egg to fully grown butterfly. If you would like to see more, take a look at, Get Ready Now for the Monarch Butterfly
During this time of reseeding, plants are also flowering. I love the bright, orange, yellow and red colors, and so do the Monarchs. I recently read that this variety is one of their favorites. I never know what I’ll find when I’m out working in the yard. We’ve had milkweed in the garden for several seasons, but I’d never noticed how beautiful it can be during the reseeding process. Today the sun was shining directly on the seed pod and it looked ethereal. I’m always looking for a new subject to photograph, and today it was the Topical Milkweed plant.
I love milkweed also! The past week they r all coming out and the yard is full of Monarchs💚
Thanks for commenting. I just love watching the Monarchs fly. Happy you are feeding them too.
