Inside Gardening

Inside Gardening is what I had to do. Our weather in southern California has been unbelievably hot. 117 degrees here yesterday. My potted plants were drying out as quickly as I watered them. Today I brought my plants in one at a time and worked on them in the house. I flooded each plant with room temperature water and pruned each plant if needed. I am really missing my usual time in the garden, but it is just too hot to be outside for very long.

On one of my quick trips outdoors, I snapped this photo. The water in our fountain looked so refreshing I just had to take a photo. It is cooler out this evening and I think the heat spell might be coming to an end.

Remembering These Flowers

This morning I was looking through old photos when I came across this one. I photographed these flowers on a previous morning’s walk. During our June Gloom mornings it makes me happy to see such brightness. I enjoy the early morning clouds, but still it’s wonderful to see the bright white flowers. I do not know the name of this shrub, so if you do, feel free to let me know.

A Day at Bowers Museum

Bowers Museum entrance
Earlier this week, we spent a day at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California. The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed the museum grounds as well as the many indoor exhibits.

These gold earrings were part of the Spirits and Headhunters:Art of the Pacific Islands exhibit. Each earring is approximately the size of a hand.
The photo below shows items that were used as currency. They are part of the same exhibit. currency exhibit Bowers Museum. Beeds and shells

Some of the grounds surrounding the Bowers Museum. I’m so glad that the weather was beautiful and we were able to enjoy the outdoors as much as the indoors.

My dear hubby at the end of the day taking a break and checking out the photos he’d taken on his iPhone.
