Fort Humboldt State Historic Park

Fort Humboldt, surgeon's house
Fort Humboldt was another fun and interesting historical site we visited while in Eureka, California this summer. Above is a photo of the surgeon’s house. It was so cozy, I wanted to move in.  Below are a few more photos I took while exploring the fort.

I love taking photos of lamps, both new and old. Couldn’t resist this one in the surgeon’s house.

The park also includes a Logging Museum and open air displays of historic 19th-mid 20th century logging equipment seen in this photo. I loved the color of the rusty metal. My husband enjoys museums and historical sites, and he’s always looking for the next one to visit. I have to admit I often drag my feet and resist going, but being such a good sport I tag along. Most of the time I am happy that I went, and this was no exception. I gave it a two thumbs up.
